Thought of the Week - 2008-1-12

  • Mental mindstate: Pleasure is strictly ratiocination!!!
  • In the CD player: I Gotta Know - Nikka Costa
  • Other side of the window: Dark and cool
  • How I feel: Not this question again...
Easy was the turn I had made into this lot
Around I had gone, in circles looking for a spot
A second I had gone, around I went
A third time around I was of total discontent

Arose a student, across the way I saw
Speedily I went, hoping this car would not stall
Sunglasses, lipstick, and cell phone in her hand, to the face they all fought?
So slow, deliberate, and calculated was this girl’s trot!

No matter for I, I was the only captain in this sea of cars
I would wait for this spot, an eagle for prey, looking only so far
The student finally backed her car to clean my red carpet that definitely had my name plate
But before it could be claimed, out of the left corner of my eye came this car – how inconsiderate?!

The old bag closed into my spot in her little black, blue, and I think, green Hyundai?
The witch thrust it through a track, a slew, and thinking a scene from Any Given Sunday
She had the nerve, so blinded, and with such gall
I though many adjectives and verbs, but mimed it and I, I still was appalled

Out and high from my left window all of my fingers went
But in the end, she would only see - one, left to linger minus lament
My jaw dropped without so much of an utterance
When that old lady pull out a wheelchair without a huff, a mutter, not even once

Cooked was she - old, docile, but not too bent or a dismal disposition of displeased
She looked at me, made a mold of a smile without content, or plans to even deceive
Frailly she sat on that chair only to struggle without worries or complaints across this vast lot
For I was the one, the one so inconsiderate, so galled, and blinded by my “know a lot”

How many times have we known with all our hearts… without guilt, we were right?
Only to find out, often, we were mistaken more than just by a slight.
For we may think it is a certain way, and all along we had fought
But in the end, it is most certainly swayed, wrong and was for naught.
0 Walked with me.
